Hello everyone ! first of all i m sorry for my poor english but i am from Argentina so have a little patience on me :D.

I'm thinking about buying a laptop for mid-entry gaming, and after watching a few benchmarks about the GTX 560M in notebookcheck.com i found this model very interesting:

    Newegg.com - ASUS G53SX-NH71 Notebook Intel Core i7 2670QM(2.20GHz) 15.6" 8GB Memory DDR3 1333 500GB HDD 7200rpm DL DVD±RW/CD-RW NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M

I want to play games like Diablo 3, BF:BC 2, BF:3, Crysis 2 and L4D in mid/high quality graphics and the native resolution of this laptop but i was wondering if in a future i can upgrade the CPU and the GPU, for example to a GTX 570M/580M

    Thanks for your support :)

    Hi,
First you have to know that anything which can be assembled, can (theorically) be disassembled. The easier on this model is RAM and HDD upgrade, for the graphics i dont really know if 560M is MXM 3.0 format. If so you will be able to upagrde GPU. No hint for CPU...

HDD and RAM are straight forward plug and play replacements and then you have wireless card. If you disassemble you can change the CPU but they do not make it easy for you to do, FAR from easy.

The GPU is soldered or built into the motherboard you cannot change it.

Thanks to both of you for your answers, i though that the GTX 500M series can be replaced like the GTX 200M, a long time go i had a G51VX-RX05 and i remember reading here about some guys who get a replace the GTX 260M for a GTX 285M

I haven no doubts that i can add an SSD and more memory but i was hoping to upgrade the CPU / GPU in a future since my budget right now is very limited, considering all the extra taxes i have to pay for the lappy :D

As mentioned the GPU is now built into the motherboard there is no MXM slot, it is a route that Asus are now going down to prevent any type of upgrading when it comes to the main pieces of hardware.

CPU is but it is also not made easy.

G53SX actually has a standalone GTX 560M, well the 128 bit version. So far only the G74SX GPU is soldered :).

I'm gonna check the price of this one and if it's compatible with the GTX 570M / 580M for a future upgrade :)
