I installed 16gb ram in my asus g73, and now i get the BSOD. When i take out 2x4gb and put back in the stock 2gb sticks it works fine. Is there something I have to do to run16gb w/o issues? All 4x4gb are corsairs. all same model.

Do a long run of memtest, sounds like a case of a bad module to me and if it isn't at least you'll have eliminated one potential cause.

I'm not sure what Intel meant by that "limit" but the G73JW ROG Limited edition has i7-740qm and this processor has this so called limit of 8GB just like the i7-720qm, though we all know that this limited edition has 16GB of RAM in it as its default specs.

    Hey,
I would also like to know what the answer is since I plan on upgrading my G73JH-RBBX05 (i7-740QM) from 8 GB to 16 GB.
Does anyone know if the G73JH (i7-740QM) can support 4 x 4GB of RAM?

In addition, I know that the G73JH has 4 slots for ram; does that mean that the G73JH supports 4 x 8GB (32GB) of RAM?

    Thanks,

    -NRUserII

I can tall you for a fact that the G73JH supports at least 12GB RAM, i don't see why 16GB would fail.

How bizarre of them to have the specs for their own processor wrong...

    G73JH only supports up to 16GB (4 x 4GB).

I have 16 gb of ddr3 installed, the biggest pain was disassembly of the computer to access the stick under the keyboard.

It was established a long time ago in threads on this forum that the G73 can run 16GB (4x4) without issue.Poeple ask the same question over and over.
And it's proven over and over that it can.
Either the info on Intel's website has a specific context or it's wrong.
I myself am running 12GB (2x4,2x2) without issue.

As for the OP's problem it's either bad module(s) or a bad connection. If you haven't already done so try reseating the ram.
