3 Questions about G73JH

hi, i never posted or openes a new tread on this forum, because i allways found the answers reading the diferento poasts and related links that are provided in this forum, i hace mi G73JH since 01/07/2011 got it used from ebay, it came with 209 bios and stock drivers for GPU, now it has BIOS 213, Chastity's VBIOS, and creative software compatibility update and it seems to work ok, but my questions are,

1.- i recently purchased online a Creative sound Blaster X-fi USB 5.1 CH sound card (it will arrive on monday), not the PRO version that its selling now, the previous one, does anybody know if i'm gonna have issues with this card on my lap (will it be good to install the creative software that comes with it? or i can just run it with the ones i have now??

2.- today i installed the Alice Maddness Returns Video Game, and i configured it to run at 1080p with wigh settings, normal movement is ok, but when i get engaged into a fight it becomes a little laggy, te GPU temp, does not reaches more than 95C displayed on HWMonitor(i know this could be a little high but before the updates of the BIOS and VBIOS GPU ran up to 110C).

3.- i'm supoused to have 1 year of warranty left, if something happens to my G73, what i have to do to get support (there is no oficial release of the G73 on my contry)?

2. I am playing Alice Madness Returns and averaging 75FPS on a g73JH BB model (1600x900 screen). You've got a 1080 screen but you should be constantly at 60fps.

Im assuming you haven't done the config tweaks, because prior to that, the game ran like CRAP for me.

Go to Documents > My games > Alice Madness Returns > AliceGame > Config > AliceEngine.ini (open w/ notepad)

Press CTRL + F and type in UseVsync. Make sure its on FALSE and not TRUE.

Press CTRL + F and type in bSmoothFrameRate. Make sure its on FALSE and not TRUE.

In-game setting, make sure you have PHYSX set to LOW.

Those tweaks it for me completely. Smooth as butter now.

 

The Creative USB 5.1 comes with THXStudio Pro which is newer than the Creative app already on your machine. Uninstall the old one, and install the updated one to get the most out of your USB card.

tanks for the reply to you 2, but there's 1 more thing Chastity, the version i purchaser is the X-fi 5.1 Surround, but not the Pro (i think it does not have THX support), do you think it will work well?

 

The Pro version adds Dolby Digital Live support for SPDIF. It will still work perfectly fine for analog 5.1

but anyways je je , i followed your instructions, uninstalled the current creative software, installed new one, and 5.1 worked great, but when i umpluged the 5.1 i noticed that i lost sub woofer sound on the 2.1 ch speakers of the lap, tried reinstalling old creative soft, but then it seems that 5.1 control panel is not working for the USB device anymore, tried to uninstall everything, but it seems that when i try to uninstall the audigy MB of the old software setup program crashes, yo know a methos to make that the 5.1 XFi control panel recognises the lap speaker for config?

 

do NOT run both Creative apps, stick to the USB one.

The subwoofer can function perfectly fine with just the Realtek drivers. You may not be used to the volume output without the Creative Bass Boost, and you think it's off. Try using the Graphical EQ in the Realtek Audio Controls and boost the bass levels.

 

oh, tanks, as soon as i can uninstall the first one and get the 5.1 working, i will be fine je je.


just wanted to Edit this post to tank you chastity and you j00zl33t for the help, i have my X-fi 5.1 Surround Running and conected to a creative Z506 5.1 speakers, it sounds amasing, and made the tweak for the alice game an its running great, now, does anybody of you 2 know if my warranty can still be asked if i purchased from ebay user and i have the original proof of purchase with date, even if i'm in mexico?

in cae of needing a RMA wich will be the process to follow?

 

The warranty is global, but I do not know if it's transferable. Maybe one of the retailers can chime in.
