Hey there folks. I got the non 3d model for my laptop but i do have a 3D TV. A samsung 8 series.

I can connect and play 3d just fine.

However it only lets me play at 1280*720p @ 60hz
    or
    1900*1080p @ 24 hz

Why cant i play FULL HD with 60 hz or 50 hz whatever?

Is it because of my tv?
is it because of the mobile card 460m?

or is it the techonology all together.

Also I can not play any other resolution in 3d as well. 1440*900 lets say.

Again is this because of my TV as well? or the video card can only output 720p and 1080p in 3d but not any other resolution.

Also does anyone own this monitor? ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Display - ASUS VG236H

Can i hook it up to my laptop as well?

    Thank you all.

Does your TV support HDMI 1.4?

    HDMI 1.4 modes
3DTV Play supports the following 3D modes:

For Blu-ray 3D and movie content
    Frame Packing 1080p @ 23.98Hz
    Frame Packing 1080p @ 24Hz

    For game content:
    Frame Packing 720p @ 50Hz
    Frame Packing 720p @ 59.94Hz
    Frame Packing 720p @ 60Hz

NVIDIA Online Store - NVIDIA 3DTV Play

    [Tech Spec Tab]

So probably no difference between TV and monitor...

Dude your asking for something that doesnt exist.

Yes, to get the 3d image your using 2 separate fields but full 1080P spec IS 24FPS.

The movie is shot at 24fps, and its playing back at what is essentially 24 progressive FPS.

If your 3d is working at 1080P 24FPS, your pretty much getting the best your going to get!

    True

I decided to get a 120hz asus screen to replace mine. I wonder how i will find it in here though. And need to find someone doing that for me as well.

Just to let you know, a 1080p 3d blu ray will still display at 24fps even if you have a 6000hz screen :)

I work at an academy award winning VFX studio and I can tell you right now that 1080p 3d looks the same on any capable screen (minus of course color and things like that dependent on brands and such)
