I tested 3DMark when I got my G751JY and recorded the score, mind you, it had 24GB of 1600 MHz. RAM which means the first pair of 16GB was running in Dual Channel Mode and the 3rd SODIMM which is alone was running in Single Channel mode using Intel's Flex technology which allows you to have Dual Channel mode even if you have a single SODIMM alone as it is in the configuration of a 24GB RAM machine which is the worst RAM configuration I've ever seen!

I'll take 16GB of RAM in Dual Channel mode any day over 24GB in Flex Mode.

Anyway, here are the results (everything running on stock no overclocking):

Samsung 24GB 1600 MHz RAM using ASUS Stock Drive 344.00

32GB Kingston HyperX 1866 MHz RAM using ASUS Stock Drive 344.00

Note: the 24GB / 1600MHz RAM 3DMark test was done while I was using the factory installed OS, but the second test was done after a clean install of Windows 8.1

Thats some good info to pass along. If you still have the 1600Mhz around give it a shot with 2x of those in and 2x 1866Mhz. I think that would really show the difference faster RAM makes.

Yes haswell has the sweet spot of performance at 1866mhz, this applies to games too and not just benchmarks.

I do but it's too much of a hassle to open the system to remove the other two SODIMMS from underneath the keyboard

So that's a 3.9% speed increase when going from a 3x 1600 combination to a 4x 1866 one. Not really much difference to be honest, but thanks for pointing this out.

I know not a mind blowing difference, but for a performance enthusiast like me, every second counts :)

Getting the faster 1866mhz is a nice top off for an already sweet system to get that final few percent :)

I got the hint that this RAM will work since it is listed as an upgrade option @ powernotebooks and XOTIC PC!

If only you guys did international shipping I would consider buying my laptops from you guys
