Hi folks - for the most part, my G73JH has been free of video-related problems though lately I have been experiencing more frequent display driver resets ("Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered" errors which occasionally result in BSOD's). This most frequently occurs after disconnecting a secondary display connected and then playing a flash video in-browser. Today, however, I had one of these errors (non-bsod's) when no video was playing but when I was switching between active windows. I could tolerate this but I am going to be doing a full day workshop using my notebook where I will be playing videos and can't afford crashes during that.

    What I have done:

-The latest vbios was updated right after it first came out.
-Was running the Catalyst Mobility 10.8 drivers - only occasional crashes during video playback
    -Disabling Twin Turbo mode
-Removal of 10.8's and installation of 10.5's - driver reset while switching windows
-Stress testing - ran furmark and gpu went up to 97C - no crashing though
OCCT - CPU maxed at 67C
-I just changed the powerplay settings to maximize battery life when on AC power - haven't had time to see whether this has made much difference

So my question is - in the short term (I don't have time to repaste and don't think that this is a thermal problem because the driver resets do not occur during gpu-intensive tasks), what would you say are the most stable mobility drivers to get me through this workshop (tomorrow)? Any other suggestions?

I tell you... as much as I want to love this notebook, considering I am using it for work as well as enjoyment, I am really starting to regret this purchase. Particularly considering the keyboard issue and now these GPU related issues...

    Thanks folks!

Well - I managed to get through the presentation without crashes. I don't know if that is just luck or a function of one of the things I have done. Has anyone had this repetitive issue? What (if anything) worked for you? Thanks!
