***ISSUE RESOLVED*** (in 3DE mega thread)

Okay, I need your help, because I can't get it to work in 3-D able video games that are rated as "excellent" by nVidia:

    - I changed the screen in Windows from 60hz to 120hz
    - Activated 3-D by using the hotkey on the top left
    - USB plugged the 3-D glasses (full charge)
    - Pressed the power button on the glasses
    - Changed my game settings to 120hz (from 60hz)

    and there's no 3-D.

Also, is it normal for the green light to vanish on the glasses after pressing it 2 minutes later?

My driver is also updated ...

Hmm. I'm sure I missed something. It did work on a demo video included with the laptop by nVidia.

And what is up with ASUS? I've called 3 times and they tell me to plug it into a 3D TV with HDMI. They will NOT believe that I have a 3D laptop. I had to tell them about both the G53 and G73 3-D capable laptops but they think I'm just "confused" because they don't exist. Are the reps not updated with new products? Even the G53-3D has been out for 2 months already ...

Edit 2: Absolute worthless technical suppot reps. My 5th phone call and after a 30 minute of waiting on hold, I get hung up on.

Wouldn't really be a problem if Asus actually believed 3D laptops existed.

Once you get it setup in 3-D mode go into the Nvidia control panel and write down what it says. Look at the settings that it has set. Sometimes the game will kick it out of 3-D. After you have done this post the results here so we can see what has happened. Also do you know how to do the Directx diag? If you do then send that to me in a private message or you can post it here.
This will do wonders for us , we will be able to tell you more as we will have all the details on what is happening on your machine. I will keep checking back so we can get you some help.

there is so much here..so many diff problems it could be. Uninstall all drivers nvidia wise. Go to the nvidia website download the latest 3d notebook driver cd package. Follow the instructions when it says plug in usb device plug it in. Yes when you press the button on the glasses the light shouldnt stay lit at all times. The screen will go through the 3d setup. When it gets to the test page you should see a blurred image without the glasses. the "test" image as they call it.. Accept the agreement if you can see it. The light on the usb device has to be lit green for 3d to work. Trial and error...ever since a couple months ago nvidia made 3d drivers a pain to install. I have owned 3 pairs of 3d glasses...and i broke one here in afghanistan during my deployment, 3d is quite difficult to setup but once its setup it it awsome. As for changing the screen to 120hz it doesnt matter ur game will change it automatically if 3d is enabled. let me know what u find out

Issue was resolved quite a while ago :p Ty. I'm surprised you found this thread considering it fell off the main page 2.5 weeks ago. Resolution was posted in the G73JW-3DE mega thread.
