Here are some stock and OC benchies on stock hardware:

    Overclock 952/1710/1905

    Furmark

Note: I didn't have to use any throttle disabling to run the benches or Furmark, unlike the G73SW, which Furmark needed. Also, still 65C after 40 min of Furmark.

I'll be redoing the benches when I drop in the 1866 RAM.

Thanks for the preview! It's a little mind blowing that the 560 can run clocks that high. :D

Yes clocks much higher than the 460m which is good to see as first oc's from gentech were disappointing. This is on a i7 2630qm right? Are you planning on updating to a i7-2720qm in order to use faster ram?

Edit: Whoops forgot 1886mhz HyperX ram works in the 2630qm :D

I investigated the low volume issue with the G74SX, ad I managed to figure out what was causing it. The "Built-In Speakers" setting in THX TruStudio is filtering the audio into oblivion. :p Set the app to "External Speakers" and you'll regain your full spectrum of audio, at proper levels. (At least matching the MS driver)

If this doesn't work for you properly, uninstall both apps and drivers, reboot, run Driver Cleaner for Realtek Sound and Creative, reboot, and then install your Realtek driver and THX MUI. (I did this during my testing, so it may or may not be necessary.)

Compared to the G73SW, the audio has a fuller sound. Since the audio plate is larger, I suspect they installed larger speaker drivers, which is probably why I suspect there's not sub driver. No need. :)

Needless to say, headphones and external powered units will still sound better.

    They are indeed correct.

I have the 560M (128) or the gimped version.

I just had Furmark running for close to two hours at 950/1900/1500 and the max temp it got too was 64.

This thing runs so much cooler than my old G60VX.

Nice any chance of seeing the benchmarks repeated with the 1866Mhz ram to see if there is much of a difference.

I can also vouch for the surprisingly cool temps the GPU runs at. The CPU I've managed to get to 75/76C, but nothing higher than that.

Thx, but it's a review unit from Asus. Part of my TeamROG duties is to do reviews and tech support on forums, like this one. :) My status should change soon, however.

Do you think it's worth it? Do you have any issues with yours? I'm asking cause I also got G53, just got it actually and decided to skip G74 model until G75... Thanks

It's well known the GTX 580 has measures to prevent overheating etc with OCCT and Furmark. It was shown when using an older Furmark 1.6, it ran much hotter. And it's not throttling the core/memory speeds, too obvious, but it was limiting power consumption which has the same effect.

Not saying that this is what's going on here, but wouldn't surprise me if it was since 560M is a recent revision of the 5xx core.

Also be curious what effect drivers have since Nvidia OpenGL drivers have probably been improving with the 5xx series. Either way since the 480 release, Nvidia has been very conscience about Furmark.
