I've been having a few issues with my G60 lately. I tried installing Trainz 06 and Supreme Commander 2 on my laptop. Supreme Commander 2 wont even install and Trainz will install but will not run saying my pc is running at 817mhz but I know its a 2.2ghz system. I thought maybe if I use the recovery disks to reformat and reinstall Win 7 fresh it would get the pc working properly but the recovery disk say there isnt a valid version of Win 7 on them.

Has anyone else had these issues and how do I fix them. I thought I finally got a gaming laptop but still can only play Bejeweled and peggle? LOL. This is crazy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some screenshots of CPU-Z and GPU-Z in the high performance mode would help. That way, we should be able to tell how fast actually your G60 is running.

is it a g60J or JX? Or is it a VX?

Likely, it's the power draw. There was a long thread about it in the g51j owner's thread, and eventually a bios fix.

So, to get screenshots - press print screen. I believe it's the function key and sysrq/prt sc key (beside delete).

Download and run CPU-Z and GPU-Z (free programs), then fire up furmark (also free) in windowed mode. Make sure your power management settings are on "high performance" and your laptop is plugged in.

Then hit printscreen, and show us the picture :)

ok give me a moment and I will do those things.

With Furmark am i running a benchmark test or a stability test or just bringing up the initial screen?

I think a benchmark test would be fine. Also, check your GPU temp while doing a test using HWMonitor.
