My problem is really hard to explain as it is fairly inconsistent.
Basically when I start up my laptop for the first time in awhile it boots fine, but after running it for about 3 minutes or so, it automatically reboots on me and a bunch of lines appear on my screen. I can proceed to run Windows again, but now I have a ton of green vertical lines and my graphics are in many funky colors. It continues to do this each time I restart it until I give it a rest for awhile, but then it starts doing it again.
When this first started happening I was running Windows Vista and it wouldn't even let me enter the login screen. It would just keep rebooting over and over again (with the green lines and messed up graphics) just before it entered the login screen, so I threw Windows 7 on to see if it remedied the problem and the only thing that got fixed is now I can login, but my graphics still are messed up and occasionally it reboots on me as mentioned above.
Any ideas how I could troubleshoot this? I am thinking it's either my graphics card or my hard drive.
Thanks
Jere

I am having the exact same problem. Sometimes it works but most the time all i get is $hitty resolution with green lines everywhere. When it boots there are green lines and then it flashes Red Squares and it won't boot into windows 7 except in Safe Mode.
Any help would be appreciated. Attached is my dumps and system info.Attached Files:

You need to go to The Nvidia Defect Forum • Index page and read the post about bad GPU chips.

I was just about to make a new thread, but apparantly i'm not the only one with this issue.
For those of you who wish to know what exactly happens, I videotaped it and uploaded it on youtube.
