I have an ASUS G50V. It has a bay to add an additional hard drive. I think that I need to order the hard drive carrier on the ASUS site to hold it. I think that the existing drive is a SATA drive, so I would assume that I need a SATA drive for the second drive. What is the largest drive that I can add to the G50V? I know that 1 T and larger are generally thicker drives, so they probably wouldn't fit. I'm thinking more like 500G or 750G. Would these work? I'm at Bios 207, would a newer Bios be recommended?

The 750GB is generally as large as you will see the standard 9.5 mm drives. You will need to get the secondary bracket to hold the drive from ASUS as they do not have that installed into the unit stock.

That's about what I thought. Thanks Brett

You could always get Samsungs new 9.5 mm 1 tb hd. you dont really need the second hd caddy just stick something behind the hd to prevent it from wiggling out, though that should be pretty difficult anyways.

Thanks. I just ordered the Samsung hard drive. It looks nice and should give me lots of storage.
