I just got the Asus G51VX -RX05. I overclocked my CPU to 2.3Ghz. When I play Crysis the GPU goes up to 85 Celsius. Is this normal? Is it dangerous? Should I get a notebook cooler?
Thanks, Alex

About the notebook cooler. Yes
85oC with a CPU is kinda high, but you also overclocked it. So yeah, it is kinda dangerous. -
He said GPU goes up to 85oC
Which is acceptable based on what i've read around here.
If the CPU was at 85 then there is issue, but a GPU can handle that.
I thought the typical rule of thumb was
75+ on a CPU is bad
95+ on a GPU is bad
To be honest, only 85 on a GPU under load is pretty cool on a Vx model. Especially if it dosen't have a cooling mod -
