I have no idea what is causing this extremely loud buzzing sound. It is coming from the left side of my laptop. The laptop begins vibrating and this loud, continuous, buzzing noise goes on and on until I stop using my laptop for anything that requires the computer to work. I can literally hear this noise if I were to stand up and walk 10-15 feet away.

The vent on the side and the fan itself is completely clean. I have used compressed air and everything. I opened the laptop to make sure when spraying. Also I left the laptop opened from the bottom and turned it on to make sure the fan was spinning properly. It was, however I am still not sure whether or not this sound is coming from the fan.

Please help, I bought this laptop a little over 2 years ago and it cost me quite a bit. I would hate for it to become ruined. :(

    Thank you very much!

Well obviously you have a bee trapped in your fan.

On a serious note, I have the same problem in my M15x but only at startup for like 1-2 seconds. It sounds as though my fan or something in that area is grinding against something, and it is quite loud. Never did figure out what it was or how to fix it, but it hasn't effected my cooling system so I decided to get used to it.

Hmm, it's so extremely loud and I still don't feel safe with "getting used to it" haha.

I'd like to know what causes this and how to actually fix it.

    Anyone else?
