Asus G51VX-RX05 stuck in headphones mode - TechSpot

Googled and found the above, same issue.
(hopefully not going against any NBR rules about posting links to other forums)

In one of the posts it talks about pins in the three jacks and how they should be "locked" when nothing is plugged in, I looked at my jacks and noticed that headphone jack is the only one that does not have the gold pin like the others...

Further down it mentions taking apart the notebook to get to the board with the jacks, but I have no idea how to go further than taking off the back panel...any guide would be highly appreciated, googling only has the one for the G70-series, this is my only source of a computer so I cannot afford any mistakes or...guess-work.

also it mentions an alternative of using an electrical lubricant...I dont really have anything of the sort...anyone know a household alternative?

    hopefully someone can help... :D
Note: please dont post "Check your settings" I've been tackling this issue for about 2 months now and.... I'm about 99.99% (I am only human) sure that I've checked all the possibilities, sound card works. plugging in headphones work, sound levels change when unplugged and still playing music.

The switch inside the socket gets stuck on G50/G51's maybe others. In the past we always used software to correct the issue it had to be manually switched back and forth.

Might be relevant still - http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/375227-g50v-headphone-output-problem-2.html

Second post guy made a script first post on the second page mentions what program it was on the G50.

I did a search and one of the ASUS mods posted this on the G51, found the link in a G60 discussion on the RoG Forums - http://forum.notebookreview.com/5879478-post337.html
