I picked up this laptop 2 days ago and just now the performance and display buttons on the top left hand corner have stopped working. When I press them, nothing happens, can anyone help D:

Try re-installing the ATK package. You can get it from Asus' support website.

That worked :D Thanks so much.

Out of curiosity, and this just might be my OCD kicking in... Does any of your guys' left shift key feel sort of odd? I mean, mine works perfectly fine, but I guess you can say sometimes it makes little crackles when pushed down, maybe due to the size of the key?

It probably just has dirt underneith it. Just pop it up from the bottom of the key by levering it up with something flat like a screwdriver. GENTLY!

It will then just clip back down once your done.

It's normal for the key to crackle a bit. Especially if you hit it at an angle as opposed to straight down.

Oh okay. Like if I push on one end of the shift key, then push on the other end it does the little crackle. Good to know though :)

The keys are on a latch and a pressure pad so that they tap and immedietely return back to the same position. If you can get your fingernail or something flat under the bottom of one you can just click it up and then press it back down as you normally would and it clicks back into place.

You probably have a piece of food underneith it haha!

I think it's absolutely normal as long as it's not really loud. I've experienced a bit of a cracking noise on 3 generations of backlit asus keyboards.

The sounds will probably go away with some more wear. Just like the squeaks.

haha it might just be not connected in one corner because there are 4 attachments to the keys if it doesn't go away as I said just click it up and push it back down so it clicks back into place.

Back in my lazy boy WoW days I would scoff at the computer religiously and regularly had crunchy keys! :D
