    Hello,

    I have few simple question : D

    - Why i CAN NOT install nvidia drivers for my Geforce 460M?
i cant instal notebook/Verde drivers / beta etc ...only one from asus page... : /

"This graphic driver could not find compatible graphic hardware"

how can i install drivers from nvidia page ?

    - i have 2.0 (creative T40) speakers connected to laptop via headphone jack
Soundcard recognizes it as headphones, is it normal? can i force it to use it as a speakers?

it probably uses custom EQ for headphones...

thanks in advance for your reply and sorry for my English : )
searched the forum but have not found the answers to these two questions

You should be able to install the Verde package. Make sure you are using that one. If you want, you can hit my Drivers page and use the ones from there. See sig link below.

I had/have the same issue with my G53. For whatever reason, the Device ID for the GPU in the G53 is not listed in nVidia's standard drivers, the last few new drivers anyway. I can't speak to the older drivers from nVidia's site because I never tried them. So at this point what you are seeing is normal until nVidia adds the G53's GPU Device ID to their inf.

You can go to NVIDIA & Laptop News | Latest NVIDIA drivers and related news | laptopvideo2go.com and grab the drivers from there. You will need to replace the inf file with the one that is attached to the respective driver thread.

The INF file listed there just expands the hardware device list for the driver installer.

Sounds to me like you're either downloading the wrong driver package, or using a modified copy of windows (so the driver package doesn't recognize your OS properly).

It's certainly not a hardware problem.

i have BOX version of windows 7 home premium x64 .

Please link me "good" driver package : )

    when i enter : http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook_drivers.html

it shows: "The manufacturer of this system requires that you download the driver for your GPU from their support site.

The GeForce M series and GeForce Go series notebook GPUs use drivers that have been customized by the notebook manufacturers to support hot key functions, power management functions, lid close and suspend/resume behavior. NVIDIA has worked with some notebook manufacturers to provide notebook-specific driver updates, however, most notebook driver updates must come from the notebook manufacturer. Additionally, the desktop GeForce graphics drivers will not install on Geforce M series and Quadro M series notebook GPU's."

    sniff

My JW uses the NVidia driver as well. Could be that you're using a localized version of windows?
Have you tried the following one?
    NVIDIA DRIVERS 270.61 WHQL

if not, you can search if there is a specific language that matches your windows language...

Meybe a should upgrade bios or something ^_ ^

    btw: still nothing ; ]
"This graphic driver could not find compatible graphic hardware"

    probably G53SW isn't added to device list, that's all : )

I can install drivers from nvidia only if I copy nvim file from asus drivers to nvidia installer : )
or just download it from laptopvideo2go, also works : )

Sorry if I revive this thread but I have the same problem as the OP.

Bought a G53SW yesterday and did a clean install but the only drivers that work for the video card is the two provided at the ASUS support site. The newest being from march this year.

The full model name is ASUS G53SW-SZ190V and it has the NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 460M 1,5GB GDDR5 VRAM

Is there an easy way to update the file in the NVIDIA driver to make it recognize my card?
