    Hi!
Im very frustated, my ASUS G53SX doesnt boot, or turn on, that happened few times, but the symptops were diferrent, because I could see the leds blinking and sometimes hear the windows start sound, and it turned on after some time, some number or tries, or some trick like press the keyboard down (to make something inside the laptop made contact), for that reason I decided not to move it anymore, since I saw this issue happened after some movement, like taking it with me in the backpack.

However, after some time working well I decided to give it a chance by taking it with me to my school so I could work on some heavy programs that my netbook handle slower, but after getting to school my laptop didnt turn on after trying 1 hour to make it work, so i taked it back to my house but I neither could make it work, so i decided to disassemble and assemble it back (without do anymore), but it still didnt worked, so I decided to repaste it, but for my surprise it was going to be even worse, because now I cant make it work anymore, the symptoms are power leds on, upper keyboard leds also on, but fan going to low to high and then shutting down, making a lot of noise too, no bios, no screen, no hard drive led blinking other than 2 seconds at the moment I press the power button. If this is more helpful, i must say I just repasted the GPU, but im considering to repaste the CPU too, and put thermal pads on the chips around the GPU, now that I know what those things are, because the first time I disassembled this part of my laptop, they were like out of shape blue pads, however I didnt know thermal pads existed and just removed them. If someone else see my post, would you mind to give me an opinion about how true is that it could be a issue related with the handling of the components with the hands? And if this related, what could have been damaged? The GPU board or the motherboard, so I could think about to spend a lot of money to fix something that Im not really sure is going to work, and Im on tight budget, and was opting to build a gaming desktop with my own bugdet and time. Thanks ASUS for dissapointing me since the begining, because my G53SX gave me problems since the first few months.

Any electronic component is sensitive to static discharge, disassembling an asus as your first notebook was.... brave.

Try booting without the graphics card, if it's still the same you might have damaged something else. You need at least a new graphics card.

Well, this is not the first time I open a laptop to try to solve some problem, I like to play with these men toys as well as desktops :p, Im figuring what you suggested, but in case the MB is healthy, should it boot? There aren't the circuits of the GPU and display connected?

If the state of the system changes (ie it turns on) where as with it in the system stays totally dark or cuts off it helps diagnose where the issue is.
