So, my alienware broke about 2 months ago and now it's bugging me because all i have now is my old toshiba that can't stand playing ANY GAMES. I've been doing a research and i've come to a decision that i am going to buy asus, i am not planning to buy a G750 or G751(that's out of my price range and that laptop is massive), my optional is G771 but i am prioritizing are G551 and GL551 but i still don't get the difference between them, can anybody give me a review and/or recommendations on which laptop should i go with?

    Hi mate,

I wouldn't recommend either of them.. The 860M is obsolete.... Look at the Clevo P650SE/SG or the Sager NP8651/8652... You can get a i7 4710HQ, 1080p screen, 8GB RAM, 970M version starting at $1200 and its much much better then either of these...

Sager NP8651 has been available for a month... the 8652's 1st stock will be shipping next week...

For $1230 I believe from XoticPC, you get Intel Core i7 4710HQ, 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD, GTX970M 3GB DDR5 and Full HD screen... I would upgrade the screen to a IPS display from TN and get more RAM and a SSD and install it on my own..

the main difference is g551jm has an ips screen, but gl551 might have better specs depend on the model, like ssd, 1 tb storage 16 gb rams.
as Tom said, the sager have better specs, but imo, sager have a very loud fan and their design is very bulky. 970 also use so much energy, so its depend what you are looking for.
Depend on where you live, if you live in US, I think you can get g551jm in ncix only(maybe amazon). Its about the same price as NP8651. If you live in Canada, I suggest you get asus, as you can get it as low as 1144$ cad or even lower with if you have coupons in some store, whereas np8651 costs 1390$ to 1500$

Hello Hello.. The Sager Np8651 is a slim notebook, you can get an IPS screen and the 970M run's cool and the fan noise is very low with this model.. As a matter of fact, with 3 fans and how cool the 970M runs, It will be less noisy then the Asus G551 with it's single fan... Also there are Clevo resellers in Canada... Also the 970M is like 100% better then the 860M so even more reason to get it..
