Hey everyone, I recently installed itunes on my G73 but I can't get the media keys to work with the program to change songs. It works just fine with WMP but they don't do anything in itunes. I did a search around here and on google, which led me to try the mmkeys.dll file in the pluggin folder but to no avail.
Is anyone else having this problem and is there another solution?

The media keys also don't work for J.River Media Center, Winamp and foobar. For the time being, I just resort to using Foxytunes to control. That or use Ctrl to replace Fn.

Its bloody annoying to be honest migrating from a laptop with working media hotkeys and to one without. :p

I don't understand what you mean by the 'media keys not working for WinAMP'? If you mean Z, X, C, V, B and the cursor keys to name a few, they work fine.

I think the OP is referring to the FN + arrow keys (play, stop, next track, etc).

@ OP: Asus's ATK Hotkey driver is only programed to work with WMP. If you want media keys for your Asus to work with iTunes, give itunekeys or itunescontrol a shot.

Bleh. That sucks. Yeah I kept trying to make the FN keys work but the play button just kept opening up windows media center lol. Is there like absolutely no way it works with itunes with these drivers? Even if iTunes is the primary window, the media keys don't work and pressing the Play/Pause one will cause WMC to open.

Unfortunately, no. ATK Hotkey only works with WMP :( I wish Asus would implement codes that would work with itunes, but seeing how Apple is one of their main competitors while Microsoft is their partner, I doubt they'd add support for itunes.

There is a way to make it work:

    Download AsusNBKeys and AsusNBKeysCtr_fix:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/150016-asus-notebook-keys-v1-3-a-10.html#post3626811

When you're on Vista x64 or Win7, follow the directions of user konradb4 here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/150016-asus-notebook-keys-v1-3-a-13.html#post5716422

This program allows you to reprogram the fn-keys. I'm using the the play/pause to open winamp, and the TimeRestore plugin in Winamp for autoplay. Other buttons can be programmed using the global hotkeys in Winamp in combination with NBkeys.

    Enjoy!

Media Keys For Itunes Work doesn't For all another notebooks and pc.
    But it can be fixed.

    Go to
    mmkeys.dll

download file and copy it to
    C:\Users\----USER---\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes Plug-ins

Now you can every-time use media keys for itunes.

What about this fix with MediaMonkey? Would it work? I've uninstalled both Media Center and WMP from my Windows installation, does that affect the ATK programming?
