for years now I've had this gaming notebook, ASUS G73JH A1 and two weeks ago the battery stopped charging, so I ordered a new one from my local computer place. thinking this was the problem. I picked up the new battery, it seemed to charge up to green, then two days later the battery light was blinking red again.. Dr. Battery LAS237, I didn't know if it's just the wrong battery or if it was dead on arrival. I should of known by the name, I think that says it all. I should also point out that it's listed on the box as li-ion 14.8V 4400 mAh, 65WHr now the original one that comes from asus is li-ion +14.6V 75W and 5200 mAh, I wounder now if that's the wrong type that the store sold me? or is it maybe the power supply is going? I mostly use this notebook as a desktop computer. it never moves or goes anywhere.

Good question. It might be a compatible battery (Voltage and the plug is most important), it has simply less capacity. If you take it out and plug it back in while the laptop is connected to the outlet, will it start charging again?
