I would have looked for past threads about this problem but for some reason I can't search for threads and posts. So I'll just post this and hopefully some good can come from it. I've had my laptop for about 3-4 months. I bought it used so I can't know for sure what the previous owner changed on it. But as far as I can see all the driver software and such are just as it were when he bought it. My notebook keeps freezing and crashing after I use it for an extended amount of time. It doesn't feel hot so I'm pretty sure its not an overheating problem. I've looked on some other forums and it said because the sound loops and makes a really loud annoying sound that it may have something to do with a Sound driver. I was having problems with it before where when I put headphones in, it would play the sound through the headphones and still the speakers instead of cutting the sound to the speakers like it is suppose to do. So I changed the driver software with another one from ASUS's driver download area and it seemed to fix the problem but didn't seem completely stable. I'm not sure if that is what is causing the problem or not. The only thing I am sure about is this only happens after I use it for a few hours. On top of that issue, my touchpad malfunctions too after I have my computer on too long. Instead of moving the cursor, it acts like I have to fingers on it and am trying to zoom in, or it just moves the cursor all around and not in a straight line. Honestly I'm very saddened because I spent a great deal of money on this laptop, just about all of my tax refund that I got from working my first 8 months at my first job. So if at all possible I'd love to get help on these problems so I can use a expensive computer the way an expensive computer is suppose to work..which is PERFECTLY. So if anyone has any information that i can help that would be great. If in a week I don't have any help, I'll bring it in to the computer repair place for a free diagnoses.

Have you had a look here:

It might help with some of your problems
Also try being more specific with exactly what is wrong- it's a bit hard to read into what you're saying -
Not sure if you ever got an answer but I still have these problems and I'm going to try this when I get home:
G73 Freezing/Crashing Issue - WORKAROUND FOUND -
GOT A SOLUTION GUYS.
LAST FEW MONTHS I'VEEN SO SAD ABOUT FREEZING AND NOT ABLE TO PLAYING STEAM GAME ON THIS ASUS G73JH. AFTER MANY RESEARCH I FOUND SOLUTION.
THE FREEZING AND BLUE SCREEN PROBLEM IS BECAUSE OF THE AUDIO CHIPSET. NOT GRAPHIC CARD!!!
SO WHAT I DID IS I JUST DISABLE ALL MY AUDIO DRIVER. I BOUGHT USB AUDIO CARD ON EBAY FOR 3$. INSTALLED AND PLAYED FOR WEEK NOTHING HAPPENING. ALL PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED. SUCKS THING YOU CANNOT LISTEN MUSIC BY YOUR LAPTOP SPEAKER BUT THATS BETTER THAN NOT SEEING BLUE SCREEN AND FREEZING RIGHT.
OK GUYS TRY THIS. THIS IS WHAT I BOUGHT NW Blue External USB 2 0 to 3D Virtual Audio Sound Card Adapter Converter 7 1 CH | eBay
AND ALSO SHARE THIS INFO AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY SAD PLAYERS AROUND WORLD /WITH ASUS G73JH FREEZING PROBLEM/

My G73JH is now on a second RMA in two weeks. Did you get a diagnoses for yours yet.? Freezing and crashing seems to be a major problem with these machines. I have read hundreds of pages in here and you rarely find that someone has located and fixed their problem permanently. Always seems to be a workaround or a temp fix.
Make sure you update your BIOS to the 213 version found on the Asus support website. Made a huge difference on mine. Versions 203 207 and 209 are not good at all.
