okay i am sooo upset after waiting about 10 days for my g73....

first thing i did was i formatted with windows 7 ultimate 64bit

installed all drivers from asus site

i am currently using Version 2010.1026.2246.39002
and using the latest bios which is 211

while i'm playing heroes of newerth i either get the black screen, or white screen... is there a fix for this?

Try upgrading/downgrading Catalyst Control Center. If you don't have it, install it

the thing is ati only offers the latest version, so i can't find the older ones, and the stock video from the asus website doesn't work either

Try a search for previous versions of catalyst then. 10.8 was pretty stable, and should still be around. I have a copy laying around, but nowhere to drop it :(

The easiest answer is no, they're different. This isn't necessarily true, and others will tell you as much. Desktop drivers can be modded to run on mobility hardware, and work just fine (see 10.9 and some 10.10 drivers).

For simplicity sake, use mobility drivers for mobility hardware.

first time it grey screened at 67c then 2nd time at 63c

    im using catalyst 10.8
and the vbios 9.3 from official asus rog g73 site

update: i went back to stock gpu and it grey screened within 10 secs of heaven 2.1

You need to be on: BIOS 209 or 211, the 93vBIOS, and updated to a current Catalyst.

yeah im on bios 211, and have already tried 10.11, 10.8, 10.7 and stock, but still no luck =[ i dont have to be gaming and it can still shut off, but it occurs much more often when i do

    EX:
-when i first turned on my computer windows was applying update and was stuck at 0 for quite some time, and then i got a blueishgrey screen death

-i turned on the computer and double clicked mozilla right away without letting everything load and got a white screen

oh and for some reason i think ive gsod faster on the stock drives which is really wierd

    additional info
    my bios is g73Jh 211
    my video bios is 012.020.000.032.0383.G730

btw ive already tried 10.4-10.8 10.9-10.11 and they all still get a gray, or black screen
10.6 lasted the longest (25mins lol....)

Always possible, I'd rather see you try more software solutions first. Software is so much easier to fix :p

Even on POST? If it can POST, you can probably do something still. Even though it doesn't make much sense, have you tried going back to Home Premium?

Do you mean its broken now? Nothing on your screen at all ??
Because I was just going to say that it does indeed look like a hardware fault to me. Or that the card is not seated properly or something like that.

Another thing you could try is to try a different vBIOS. I had the occasional gsod on the updated ASUS vBIOS so I went back to the MSI one and have been on it ever since with no problems whatsoever. You’ll find the MSI vBIOS here: http://go.notebookreview.com/?id=52...gsod-fix-g73-owners-vbios-update-guide-4.html

Another one you could try is this one found here: http://go.notebookreview.com/?id=52...015-g73-gsod-fixes-resources.html#post6444967

It has slightly lower voltages so I believe but I haven’t tried that one out myself.

    Good luck.
