    howdie,

just asking.... i pre-ordered Asus G73JH here in europe ( Asus G73JH-TY080Z ) and the only difference against A1 is in the display resolution.... that original A1 is using full HD instead of HD+ 1600x900 in G73JH-TY080Z....

my quess is that the lower native resolution 1600x900 would be better for games than full HD, dont you think? ( i am talking about fps...)

What about the new games? Are they support such resolution? Eg World of warcraft)

I have had pre-ordered the A1 with Full HD previously, but canceled it due to really low supply and long waiting time on this model.... and i cant wait!!!! :D

Yes, the lower resolution would be better for gaming. But, I can confirm the G73 can handle 1920x1080 with relative ease for the most recent game releases(on high or with most all settings on high). The Quad Core makes a huge difference along with 5870.

To me, the higher resolution was a selling point because I don't have a monitor or HD television at that resolution.

I say buy it if it's available and in stock. If I did not have/could not find the model with the higher resolution available to actually order and receive now then I would definitely pick up the model you are suggesting with no absolutely reservations.
