I have created this thread to discuss our gaming experiences on G73JH. This could be helpful to compare our settings and the GPU Temp / FPS we get using them. This could also be useful to those who are still thinking about buying one of these notebooks, since they can get a clear view of this notebook's true gaming potential.

Here is a gaming related question to start with:

All my drivers are STOCK. BIOS version is 206. I am not using any additional cooler and my system is not overclocked.

In the last two days I played GTA IV. These are my settings:
    Resolution: 1920x1080
    Aspect Ratio: Auto
    Texture Quality: High
    Reflection Resolution: Medium
    Water Quality: Medium
    Shadow Quality: Medium
    Night Shadows: OFF
    Texture Filter Quality: Anisotropic 4x
    View Distance: 25
    Detail Distance: 25
    Vehicle Density: 37
    Definition: ON
    VSync: ON

Max GPU temp I got so far was 92C (MemIO)
FPS is pretty much varied, between 20ish - 40ish.

Those who play GTA IV, what are your experiences with it? GPU Temp, FPS, The best settings that work well for you?

sorry dude, but your are using one of the less optimized games for pc as reference for compare performance. In addition, some gamers prefer high resolution at 60 fps regardless the graphics quality (textures, shaders, effects, etc). Other prefers high quality and not 60 fps or even lower resolutions. Depends on your own preferences. For example, I love the game split/second, but the game can not run at very high setting at 1080p, or even at 720p because the bad optimization. But I can still play at 1080p in high settings, which renders enough quality for me.

On the other hand, temp and FPS depends on every single game. I just play MW2, the game play smooth at 1080p with every setting in ultra but no AA (one one need truly it at 1080p ??? ) and the G73 chassis remained cool or warm during the game. Using the observation, Split second heat my g73 up and you can felling in the lap how much hot the laptop became just because of the game.

And finally, performance and temp depends on your BIOS and drivers.
