    Hello Asus G73, lovers

I will like your opinions in your experience with Asus G73, and Xotic PC :)

1> I Pre-orded the GT3-A2 few weeks ago and just receive confirmation from Xotic PC it says they are waiting for my funds :D Question is>> If i send the funds, does that means they will send it to me inmidiatly ones the money is on there account ?

2> Does any of you had experience importing goods from USA to Hong Kong? Is Hong Kong free of import tax?

3> Does any of you had experience importing goods to China mainland? If yes what are the tax fees I could expect to end up paying there ?

4> I have read some were that the processor: - Intel® Core™ i7-720QM, 1.60-2.80GHz was finally overclokeble to 3.2 GHz  Is it true ?

5> I read at Asus site that the G73JH come with a world warranties of 2 years, Does that mean that if I have some problems I can send it for repair in Hong Kong or China ?

I really thank you all and hope to be here more often, as you see this is my first post :p

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

I ship numerous items to family members in Hong Kong on a continuous basis and HK doesn't charge any customs fee or tax. However, if you ship to mainland China, custom duties do apply and vary significantly based on the item you are shipping.

All Asus resellers in the US will ship upon receiving the funds unless the item is out of stock. Given the high demand of G73 units, there may be a waiting period before the G73 is back in stock.

The 2 year warranty is global. I purchased one of my Asus laptops from GenTechPC in the US and had no issues getting it repaired in Hong Kong in Wan Chai. The difference between repairs in the US and HK is that you usually have to bring the laptop in to the repair facility yourself rather than shipping it like we do in the US.

As for overclocking the CPU, I don't think I've seen anyone overclock the 720QM to 3.2GHz here on the forums.

I can answer you the 1st question since I myself have received the same email few days ago and I've asked the sales advisor, he said that iis just an update telling you where to wire transfer your payment, nothing to do with the stock.

I haven't read of anyone on these forums who can even use the full potential of the 720QM stock yet except for encoding, and there are only a few of us here. If you really want to do encoding better off just building a desktop with the new Phenom II X6 for $280.

For gaming, applications, audio, photoshop, anything other than encoding, I haven't read anyone coming close to needing more than what the Stock 720QM offers.

The only thing I've seen, the need for bigger e-peen.

I hope you are right!!! I want to be sure they will UPS me the system as soon they get my money transfer.

I mean I am doing this from Hong Kong and really is crazy since these laptops must be fabricated in China or Taiwan, having to send money to Usa been build here and doing 2 trips :D

How do you know your position on the list ? Where is that list ? Thanks :)
