    Hello everyone!

I wanted to know which version shud i get. the X3 version (available at TG) or the RBB (form BB).

Here's the thing....i dont care much for bluetooth, the extra HHD or 2GB Ram.

(if I'm missing any other important details, please point it out)

my biggest gripe is with the screen. Apart from the RBB having a lower res,
I have read in a few places that the screen is suppar, with poor contrast ratio.

Seeing that there are a lot of G73 owners here, my question is, does the screen differ signficantly in quality between the X3 and the BB version?

    Looking forward to everyone's opinions.

The screen is poor in the viewing angle department. The contrast hasn't been an issue. Between the ATI control panel, ASUS Splendid Utility and in game settings, problems are fixable.

I feel the lower res, but as I played most games at 1680x1050 on my 7805u it isn't too big a loss for me. I can't see the Mobility HD5870 doing 1080p on a regular basis with newer games anyway. At least you will be playing games at the screens resolution rather than downscaling.

A true gamer would take the cheaper one and spend the money on games.

Don't forget about the warranty difference. 1 year at Best Buy v. 2 year/1yr accidental on the x3.

As for the screen, at least you can see the Best Buy model in person. Why not take a look, if it looks good to you then that's all that matters.

Are you sure about that? IIRC, asus only does 2 year warranties on the -A models, the -X models get 1 year.

Yeah no Accidental Damage coverage on the BB model. I tried and received an e-mail that the serial number is not eligible.

    Cheers,

Well thanks for all the reply folks, specially to thegreatsquare, u do make
    a few good points.

I personally dont have a prob with the lower resolution, but rather im concerned about whether the brightness or sharpness of the images are different between the two makes (or the refreshrate for that matter).

I mean i just upped my desktop display from a Phillips 22" true bright to a BenQ E2420HD, and the image quality is frankly stunning in the latter.

But really, thanks to everyone for their replies. Please keep going by all means!
