So I got my XA1 two days ago. Everything was going well, until recently I started noticing the hard drive light pulsing every second (not as bright and intense, but flashing nevertheless). I really would not worry about this, but I think it might be affecting the performance.
It flashes even when nothing is running (including avg).
The only thing I see in resource monitor under the drive tab is "system" and I tried disabling it (lol, don't EVER try it) with no success.

The main performance issue I am noticing is not with gaming, but when I open or close programs. When I close a program, there is this very brief pause as it closes and then closes fully. It is nothing major, but I am expecting near perfection on a brand new laptop with all the recent drivers updated.

windows 7- 64 bit and I recently used the recovery disk to install original factory settings (Yes, yes I know it was new, but my graphics card was not working properly and the IDIOTIC support crew at ASUS told me to use the recovery disk. Turns out all I had to do was turn on vsync to stop the screen tears. They did not even know what screen tearing was... sigh).

    Thank you all!
