hey guys!
they slashed off 100 bucks off the price. it's now cheaper than the XA1 model. it comes with a blu-ray player and 500GB hard drive. is this a good deal? anyone who has this same exact model? any feedback would be much appreciated.thanks!

I'd say that is a fair price. I paid ~$1300 for my G73JH-RBBX05 about 3 months ago. Not much has changed in the laptop scene since.
I do have a personal question for you:
Are you the walrus? Come on, be honest! -
It's actually listed by Amazon as being sold by Circuit City which is actually Tiger Direct. Beware when dealing with Tiger Direct given their poor record of customer service:
ASUS G73JW-XT1 Laptop Computer - Intel Core i7-740QM 1.73GHz, 8GB DDR3, 500GB HDD, Blu-ray Player/DVDRW, 17.3 Full HD, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, Black, 2-Year Warranty, 1-Year Accidental at TigerDirect.com -
no, the walrus is paul.
hmm. thanks for the tip. but at that price point that deal just seems too good (to be true?). well, if that's the case the search for a gaming laptop continues.
thanks for the replies.

I bought my g73jw-xt1 on a compusa local store for 1.399. It`s 1499 on the website tho..

I bought XT1 this week and still on wait for my delivery. One question to owners: is recovery DVD for Win7 included into package?
-
I would say it as a pretty good deal.. I pain 1350$ for my g53-a3 which comes with a bag and mouse and a smaller form factor was important for me.. If you are going to buy a laptop, wait for a month or so since they will reduce the prices of these laptops because of the introduction of sandybridge laptops

Probably not a good idea to trash a retailer without at least citing some sources. -
Bought my G73JH-A1 for $999.99 on Black Friday.
