Hey guys,
So i just bought a new R73jh-rbbx05 laptop. Updated the vbios to v93 and bios to 211 as well as updated the drivers to the new CCC 11.1.
However, I see notebookcheck has SC2 on high ~59-fps with Ultra being ~35fps. I play some Custom Map Settings on Ultra and the fps drops to about 10-15 fps~!
My question is, what settings do you guys don't use/use when playing games (such as taking AA off and AF off etc.)
Thanks

Your laptop could be overheating causing the GPU to underclock itself.

Perhaps.. even with the immense cooling this laptop has, are there any laptop coolers you could recommend for this beast?

overheating reduces performance? -
I've never heard of overheating causing your gpu to downclock. Lots of people have had their laptop shutdown due to overheating though, me included. My guess is notebookchecks stats are based on the campaign mode and you are playing custom games. Since the # of units is increased the gpus work is increased which reduces the fps.
Rather than compare to notebookcheck.net, try the SC2 thread in this forum. Ask what everyone else is getting in similar situations. Rightnow is it closer to apples v oranges rather than apples v apples. -
Make sure your Power Plan is set to High Performance Frosty

Yeah, you can't really measure a single 'ling on the screen with a mass of creep and 1m lings in a custom map.

Remove all catalyst driver and sweep them form your hdd and try 10.10, 10.12 or even 10.12. Also, notebookcheck compare vga from different laptop than the g73jh. I'm not saying the g73 cannot reach those fps, just differents machine were used and they do not state the resolution. On the other hand, you are getting really low fps. In custom games, i used to start with 55-60 fps, in battle of course the fps reduce to 40-45.
Just use notebookcheck as reference but not for real values, which rely in many aspects specially in the catalyst drivers.
ASUS G73Jh..not getting same fps as notebookcheck.net?
