    Hi,

I recently bought an ASUS G73SW and got a crappy AUO139e screen with it. Was wondering if it would be possible to swap this screen with a HANNSTAR HSD173PUW1. Which is the screen that is on most of the ASUS G73SW models.
Would i need to change the connector cables and the motherboard? or would the screen simply just fit into my laptop with everything as it is?

    Thanks.

Well I have he same screen as well, and I must say it certainly isnt crap at all. of course I got mine in june 2011. I would assume it would fit in as-is although I cant say for certain. Try a google search.

Alright thanks, its not so much the quality that i care about more that its only 1600*900 resolution.
I googled it and found some stuff on it, nothing that would suggest it wouldn't work. However a person selling the screen on ebay seamed to think that because i was getting a screen with a higher resolution i wouldn't be able to just interchange them, unless i changed the motherboard and video cable also. Not sure if this is accurate at all, was just wondering if anyone could confirm this or not?
    Thanks.

You can swap out the 900p for the 1080p with no problem. Both use dual-channel lcd cable
