Well I ordered it on the 10th, and it came in two days ago. I got it from newegg as re-certified which should be perfectly fine, and the only way I got it for $350 off. Anyhow, every time I played a game with this thing on reasonably high graphics, it would bsod, even Minecraft! I joined a server and it bsod'd instantly. Now, every time I boot, instant bsod after login. To troubleshoot, I removed, inspected, cleaned, and reinstalled each ram stick, and even took my desktops SSD and installed it temporarily to see if it was just an HDD or OS issue. Still bsod'd. Now I don't know what to do. It's either pay for shipping and send it back to Newegg and hope to get a replacement, or send it off to Asus and have it repaired. Either way, I'm not happy. Anyone know any fixes, solutions, or have any input?

Hmmm you seem to have tried to fix everything but the most obvious what graphics drivers are you using?

Have you tried uninstalling, crap cleaning (drive sweeper) and restarting so it loads the factory VGA driver and then reinstalling the latest Nvidia drivers?

Or are you still on the stock drivers that came with the laptop? :/

I uninstalled all graphics drivers, and updated to the latest version of the GTX 560m drivers from nVidia, and that was before the boot bsod's.

Are you running the game from an SSD I know you mentioned removing the SSD and putting your desktop HDD in but if the SSD still your primary?

What SSD came with the laptop or you are using?

Does it only do it with Minecraft? Wondering if it could be an OPENGL issue if thats so.

No, I removed the HDD from my laptop and put my Desktop's SSD in the laptop. It won't even boot anymore without blue screening. Every time I start my PC, it blue screens after login, no matter which boot device was selected.

Hmmmmm. Was it preinstalled when you got it?

Without going in via safe mode and you spending much wasted life and energy on trying to fix the problem it might be a good idea to just start from scratch. Factory reset it unless you have your own prepared partition or installation and start again.

If it continues to have problems after wiping it you could have a rusty HDD.

You said all RAM was checked etc etc I cannot think of what else it could be. Others may have some ideas but as quick as reinstalling windows is these days that is what I would do.

Well both the SSD from my desktop, and the HDD that came with the laptop bluescreen on startup, but only in the laptop. I think it's the graphics card that's causing the problems. But I just wanted a second opinion.

EDIT: Also forgot to mention that it also blue screened in safe mode.

If you have anything you need on it wack it in your desktop and get the data off and then factory reset the bugger!

That should at least get you back into windows and you can then start again and see if the same thing happens. BSOD I would put my money on is a software issue if it was hardware related the GPU would not bring anything up on screen. If it was temperature related thermal shutdown would kick in so I still think it is either your GPU drivers or something wrong with your OS.

Will do, I'll try a factory reset, if that doesnt work, i'll install from an older windows 7 CD. If THAT doesnt work, she's going back. Thanks for the help.

Also make sure the SSD is mounted in Port 0, which is the one that is not a ribbon cable. Also, what model SSD are you using?

You can also redo the Intel INF by running the executable from a command prompt, and running:

    infinst_autol.exe -overall

Reboot, and install the latest RST drivers.

If you continue to have issues, we can RMA to us here and I'll check it.

    Case: 1636516

Hi there....I'm having the exact same problem with the video going blank right after start up. It's been working great for about a month or so then this happened. I've used it a LOT for gaming leading up to this. I changed to an SSD (Pyro 240GB) a few weeks back. I also updated to Win7 Ultimate back then as well. I've reloaded windows numerous time and as soon as I load the VGA driver from the Asus driver disk or Asus website the video display disappears. It seems that the video card crashes as soon as the settings get juiced up. I've also reinstalled original HD, which has original OS, drivers, etc., with the same results.
