Alright,I will do it.
May I have any download link for Ez Flash and Aflash2?
I downloaded Aflash2 from g73 support site, but doesn' work.
I need a newer program. Error message: please update flashing program...
Thank you so much. -
EZ Flash is built into the bios, Aflash2 is available on Asus' support site.
-
Thanks. EZ Flash also doesn't work. Error message: invalid bios.
I can't find the newer version of Aflash2 (3.12). -
-
Unfortunately I don't know. If I did any modification with amibcp, I cannot flash it with Ez Flash. For example: I only changed memory frequency limiter from default Auto to 2400Mhz.

Whatever you used to make the custom BIOS got the padding wrong if the filesize doesn't match.
-
The modified file is exactly the same size of the original file size. But, If I save the bios from the Eprom the size will be smaller than the asus bios download page. I don't understand, why.
Please look at this picture. -
Hi yall. I have a bit of a silly question so I'll ask it on this thread instead if making another one.
I recently purchased a ASUS G75VW-DS72, which comes with a 256 Gb SSD. Now with my limited knowledge of SSDs the only thing I know is to turn off scheduled defrag for it. I was talking to a friend today, and he said he thinks there are some other things I should do to maximize a SSD's life and efficiency.
I suspect he could be right. Any input? -
Make sure the SSD is aligned and that Windows recognizes it as a SSD, that's it. If you did a clean install, it's aligned for sure, if it's a factory install, you shouldn't need to touch anything. Every optimization guide i see out there has things that i agree with, things i don't really care about and things that make me cringe because they bring little gain and actually cripple other Windows features/functionality. Some suggest disabling indexing: DON'T, same for prefetch.
-
That being said I didn't change anything, it's only 2 weeks old so it's pretty much factory at this point. -
To check for alignment, open a command prompt as an administrator and use diskpart (just type diskpart once in the command prompt):
Select the disk that is the SSD of course and the offset for the first partition has to be divisible by 4kB.
to check whether windows sees it as a SSD (also needs admin rights):
The command has to return a 0. -
Flash succeeded.
Trying to use afudos in dos. I can't flash the original download version bios (210).
But the saved and modified bios is correct.
What do you think, can I flash my modified bios?
Please look at these picture.
Thanks. -
Thanks again tijo. -
The SSD talk derailed this thread a bit, is there any news on modding the (210) 660m vbios for the G75? I've tried NiBiTor 6.06 but that doesn't recognize the uploaded gtx660m_210 file, or the first vBIOS uploaded either. Specifically, I'm looking to overclock with the vBIOS to around 1000MHz, like the modded Dell 660m one here:
NVIDIA Kepler VBIOS mods - Overclocking Editions, modified clocks, voltage tweaks
Linux doesn't have overclocking support for Fermi and up, which is where I'm trying to get better performance. Linux is actually why I bought this G75VW-BBK5 - it doesn't have Optimus. -
what tools do you use to modify asus g75vx bios?
thank you -
Yeah... finally I managed to editing video BIOS GTX670M in G75VW. At last, my laptop is running 750/1800 (900). I'm happy!

Guys, I'm having a bit of a problem, I bricked my G75VW and am in need of the BIOS file that is 8MB exactly (not the ones that you can download from the Asus site). Wandering if any of you has it, an you could kindly pass it to me.
