    Greetz from sunny Florida

I searched around the forum and decided to poke my head in and jangle around some of my 2cents.
As far as the fixes, great stuff guys\gals\testers!
I've not seen very many posts regarding best buys model 73jh. This troubles me...
See, I bought a best buy model about a month ago and wouldn'tcha know, I'm fully out of [return] warranty when all of a sudden my keyboard and mouse seize up and stop responding, I get 101% completely random BSOD's with NO information about what caused them, just the mem dump info AND Ive in no way been able to replicate these incidents to find a solution. I even had one while browsing your [these] forums.

My BIOS version is 211, && everything else completely vanilla.
I'll copy and paste the information I garnered after a blue screen.

    Problem signature:

    OS Version: 6_1_7600

If anyone has had similar issues and managed a fix I emplor you to please PLEASE help end my suffering! >_> or Help me out by reposting or linking me to the solution you think might work.

    Thanks a BUCKTON,
    Dez~

What kind of temps are you getting? You should update to catalyst 10.10 or higher and try updating the vbios.

I bought the BB G73Jh model myself 5 days ago. I update Catalyst to 10.11 & updated the vBIOS. So far it's been pretty cherry, no problems except the keyboard missing key strokes.

FYI, I have this same error on the same Best Buy asus laptop. Will post back when I have tried the proposed solutions. :)

Part 1: I checked the verifier settings and everything was already off from the factory. On to updating the vbios and so forth . . .

Going on these instructions: G73Jh GSOD Vbios Update, it seems that one needs a flash drive . . . back to best buy, it seems . . . on to updating my catalyst drivers to 10.12.

Well, I meant to detail my efforts, but when I went to best buy to get a new flash drive, I decided to just return it. I went to the Sony Style store and bought a vaio . . . VPCE (not sure what the specific model is, maybe C3AFX). It's less powerful but it cost less, Sony's warranty is less expensive than BB's, and I generally have a better feeling about it.

Interestingly the sony style people said that the Vaio's sold at Best Buy are made especially for Best Buy using cheaper components, so I wonder if the Asus has the same policy.

That *is* what the sony style people would say. Having worked there, this is BS. They're made with inferior (but not lower quality) components, which is the exact same thing that asus does.

For example: The g73 at BB gets a HD+ (1600x900) screen. A proper asus model is 1080p / FHD. The HD+ screen just isn't as expensive - It's cheaper! It's inferior to Full HD, but not made of poorer quality stuff.
