Hi guys and gals,
We're back, and we are out of chewing gum.![]()
I finished my training session, and I'm getting things in order for getting the support docs and files back online. I have my server back up, and thanks to DynDNS.org for timing out my hostname, and not being able to recreate it under the same name, I had to make a new one: pcaudio.dyndns.info.![]()
I updated the links on the support page on rog.asus.com. I will be making an actual support page on a new host, which will be aptly named donotblame.us (Don't go there yet)(Getting online space from IT has proven harder than I expected, especially with asusrog.com got taken over by Taiwan HQ.)
To solve these issues, I now have a Comcast Business acct at home, and I'll prolly be getting a 300GB webhost with no data caps. This host will have a webpage with the file index, and hopefully organized better. (Prolly by notebook groups)
I'll also endeavor to setup some FAQs for the more commonly-asked questions, like:
Q: What's the first thing I should do with my new G74SX?
A: Install Steam.![]()
Also, just to let people know, any support questions I see, I create cases on our Customer Support database, so that if you ever need to call our support lines, you can reference the Case # I embed at the bottom of the replies, and the online tech can see everything posted.
As a Customer Care Specialist, I can also handle inquiries and RMA requests. You can PM me the following info and I can get the ball rolling (for North American Customers):
Name
Address
City, State, Zip
phone
cell
model
serial number
Description of Issue (include any previous RMA numbers or Case numbers)
Copy of electronic or scanned invoice (if available)
Replies will be given in order of reception, so please be patient with me. Thank you in advance.![]()
DO NOT POST SERVICE REQUESTS WITH THE ABOVE INFO IN PUBLIC FORUM THREADS If you cannot PM, please email me at [email protected], or call Customer Support at 888-678-3688.
Other than that, it's rockin' to be back online!!

I was wondering where you'd gone! Good to have you (and your links) back.

Sweet! Good to have you back! Does that mean you'll be allowed to comment on the ROG forums again too?!

Great News Chastity, Once you are up and running there will be a collective worldwide sigh of relief. If there are issues in the future is the ASUS ftp site a viable alternative?
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/nb/ ? TIA
And does the FTP site have the same files as ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download ?
Thanks a lot Chastity, you ROCK! -
I'm not sure what is going on with the FTP, sorry.
On the other hand, I managed to fix my Apache server in regards to speed. Appears you need to do 3 things to get the Win32 builds to work properly on Win 7:
1) Disable SendFile
2) Disable MMAP
3) Run httpd.exe in XP compatible mode * < this was what I was missing :/
Mind that it is only a 5mbit line, and everyone has to share bandwidth. -
Update: Got my 300GB webhost on Comcast for donotblame.us
Now I just need to get everything there + make my driver page

where is the link???????
