    Hello,
Note: This is the ATI Driver Set with WHQL certified drivers - This means that the drivers are actually an older version of drivers then the "hotfixes" that Chastity and others post.

In essence these drivers will not provide a "digital siginature" error when installing, but they are an OLDER version of the drivers then what Chastity Posts at the ASUS ROG Forums : G73 Series Driver and Application Reference

    In Peace and Agape,
    Trav...

Well I've been experiencing a BSOD every once in a great while due to 10.12 so I loaded this right up. The Catalyst Control Center is completely different in 11.1. I've never seen it set up this way before. Hopefully this is a good stable driver release.

Yeah I've been getting the same with both 10.12 and 10.11. 10.10 has been great though.

won't load right on my G73 no matter what i do. I driver swept, ccleaned, safemode driver swept, safe mode cc cleaned and it always installs this:

ok well manually force installing the driver finally gives me:

but with the previously linked application I still have blurry text. At least firefox is fixed now though.

the only thing I can find that is different is the Direct3D driver version looks like it is older than it should be

Mine says 10.12. I guess I didn't install it correctly. Going to have to try again. It looks like we both have the new Catalyst control center but the same actual video driver we had before. Were you on 10.8 when you upgraded?

The installer lacks the "Catalyst Version" field update. On my system, it doesn't even appear. :)

8.812 is the new driver version as far as I can tell, so it should be installed correctly.

The "Catalyst_Version" key disappeared once again from the INF files, so the Catalyst version doesn't get updated for display.

To fix before installing, the following key can be added to the "[ati2mtag_SoftwareDeviceSettings]" section of the INF file(s)...

    HKR,, Catalyst_Version,,"11.1"

To fix after installing, use regedit to find the "Catalyst_Version" value in the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0000" key. Modify the value to "11.1" (or whatever you want). For those who used a reg sweeper to clean up the ATI stuff, you can add a new string value called "Catalyst_Version" to the above mentioned key.

I removed all catalyst software, ran driver sweeper, and reinstalled. I think this is what you should see when it is installed.

    Same thing here.

I deleted all the ATI registry keys/files/folders after running Driver Sweeper, and re-installed the Mobility 11.1 Catalyst. Now it just displays the driver package version and not the Catalyst version.

Yes, your installation is b0rk. Keep reinstalling it until it displays properly. Or read the last several posts.

This WHQL driver does not automatically uninstall your existing drivers like the previous ones did. If you install over the top of your Cat 10.12, 10.10, or whatever it will not remove them. You wind up with only an upgraded Catalyst Control Center. I doubt you have to run driversweeper and all that. You probably just have to uninstall the ATI software yourself and reboot before installing the new one.

The previous ones would remove everything as part of the install process.

i've just edited in registry catalyst version
everything else is from the instalation

so if in 11.1 lacks catalyst version so probably it was showing me 10.10 from the last version and it didn't overwrite that registry key or delete it
that doesn't mean i don't have it properly installed right?

I think I made a booboo somewhere. My process is the same as always though.

Express uninstall ALL ATI software including the CCC -> Reboot -> Run Driver Sweeper -> Reboot -> Run it again just to double check ->Run CCleaner for the leftovers (There always is) -> Delete any folders that may remain -> Install new drivers.

Where did I go wrong?! lol.

    Indeedly!

The Catalyst version string is for human use only. If it had any effect then they certainly would remember it in the install packages. :)

The driver version can also be checked in device manager...Cat 11.1 is driver version 8.812. Here's the info from the INF files:

    DriverVer=01/04/2011, 8.812.0.0000
    ...
    HKLM,"Software\ATI Technologies\CBT",ReleaseVersion,,"8.812-110104a-111990C-ATI"
    HKR,, ReleaseVersion,,"8.812-110104a-111990C-ATI"
    HKR,, BuildNumber,,"09700"

And for those that spend so much time in CCC looking at the software info page that they MUST see the correct "Catalyst Version" string, you can set the string to whatever you want as described in my post above. I set mine to "11.1 Fo Shizzle!". :p

If anybody is having trouble installing any of the Catalyst drivers in Win7 or Vista you might have to download the following:

    KB961894 Windows Update.

Download and install manually to fix the installer issues. The exact file to download is the ENU (vcredist_x64.exe) which is the English version.

Interesting...this driver has given me the lowest temps so far. I have been on 10.11 till now and darksiders used to take GPU memIO temps to 85 or so max. This one is only 70.5 . That is a huuuge jump. ANyone else noticing this? BTW...stock cooling solution. Still chicken to open and repaste. I just don't want to mess with this computer. Also...another horror story is aboutt that stupid keyboard double sided tape.

Ati/Amd switched around how the temps are read, use GPU-Z to see your real temps.

I thought the same when I was running furmark and my max was only like 75 lol

That's not a bad temp for memIO. Sure, it's not 77 like chastity's temps, but no one else has been able to get that ... even xoticPC (or was it gentech) was sitting at 85 or so.

That happens to mine on various drivers (10.1, 10.5, 10.6). Now I just shut it down fully rather than sleeping it. Since I got a SSD boot time is under 30 seconds. Would annoy me if I still used sleep, that's for sure!

Will have a look when I get home and see if it's still happening on my current drivers.

I never found a fix for it, not sure if it is a common problem or not. I had a look for a solution on these forums but didn't find anything (was about 4 months ago though).

I am using hwinfo32. I wouldn't suppose that would give false readings?

Yeah!! I was surprised to see it that low. I guess I wll be trying other games later and see if it sticks that low or any lower than the 90s I generally see.
