Let's share our stories what are we doing the time when the BSOD appeared.
-
The first one is when i was installing the ATI TRAY TOOLS, As soon as the installation is done, BSOD appeared. Second is when i was running my windows defender then i accidentally opened my warcraft 3 BSOD appeared again. What's your other experiences guys?
-
I keep getting random BSODs on my brand new G73jh-X1. Each time had been after I uninstalled "some" of the bloatware.
Im open to any suggestions. -
ATI Tray tools does BSOD my G73. I've had no other BSOD's.
-
Had a BSOD when I installed a theme pack from Microsoft and that was followed by another BSOD when it was uninstalled. Lesson learned.

Let me sum it up, at least for me:
stock drivers - everything works great
newer drivers (no matter which 10.x ones) - random freezes, glitches, crashes and various SOD's (grey, yellow, blue, red).
so this is the ultimate question.
how can it be hardware failure if stock drivers are working awesome?
and why I just can't get any other, newer ones to work?
edit:
there's one exception though, it's called bad company 2. it is the only game which does not make my system go SOD on newest 10.4 mobility drivers. and there's one thing too - 10.4 drivers make bc2 look like a dx11 game, stock ones - dx9(?). there are major differences in lighting and performance
this is very depressing. -
ATi has never been known for their great driver support =]
-
Well I'm just wondering if I need to RMA or just wait for proper drivers to come. Yet I am afraid that my G73JH won't be able to cooperate with any other drivers, just with the stock ones. This is sick.

The first thing to do is uninstall all the creative drivers, Since i did that i haven't experienced bsod's YET. I hope that will stop the randomly appearance of bsod's.

Ati Tray tools are doing BSODs because u did not disabled overclocking feature during installation.
other than that, as i already informed you about possibly solution how to fix GSODs... unfortunatelly, i was running without them on 10.6 leaked for some hours, but lately i get few... but i must say it was really rarely, i was getting much more before i installed clean W7... anyway i am now running 9.12 factory.... :/ -
I just returned my G73h-A1 based on the BSOD. I dont know how much of this problem equates to ATI when the problem does not seem to plague the Sager with the 5870m installed. I decided to wait for the 480m and the crossfire to see what happens in that ballpark. I'm not willing to deal with a computer where you have to worry about whether or not it plans on crashing, that is a $1700 mistake.
-
They're going to be putting 480m and dual 5870s (crossfire) in the sager?
-
-
what about PSOD? running older games (that set low resolutions)

I've been playing some Q3/Q4 at 800x600 perfectly fine. I did testing Trackmania Nations Forever at 640x480 for like 30min with no probs either.
I will keep testing though, I rather not have to send it back, but better now while I'm still on my 30days and just get my money back vs when I will have to RMA and wait for a while to get a new.
All users who are experiencing BSOD's in our g73jh
