$1500 for 8750H, 1060, 16gb Ram, 128GB SSD, 1TB HDD, 120Hz IPS screen sounds pretty good to me.

Anyone have this laptop? Ive seen a couple people return it on reddit but they didnt say why.
Im really curious about fan noise (my current laptop is a 747 taking off) and overall quality, bloatware, etc.

I understand it does not have the lift mechanism which to be honest isnt a deal breaker for me.

I did ask a customer support rep at Asus who confirmed it is the same panel as the GL503 which gets good reviews on youtube

    thanks

I've had one for a couple of weeks now...I like it.
I replaced the drives with an NVME and a SATA SSD
my only real complaint....It's pretty loud, so I set up some throttlestop profiles to keep it calm when I'm just doing daily desktop stuff.
I did have to exchange the first one I got...It was powering off every time I picked it up and moved it around..the replacement is working great...

I forgot to add, I haven't yet found a way to drive an external monitor with anything but the 1060.
This adds to heat and noise as optimus never kicks in

Are you connecting your external monitor via HDMI or Thunderbolt 3 with DisplayPort? If the latter, is the TB3 port connected to the 1060 and would thus be able to drive a G-Sync monitor? Or is it like the Razer Blade where the Thunderbolt still runs through the Intel iGPU and would therefore not work with G-Sync?

Both TB3 and HDMI are 1060 only. (For me at least)

I assume you have tried switching to optimus in the software setting and rebooted? Still no help when plugging in an external monitor?

I just decided to buy this over the new razer blade or GS65 After I read overwatch prefers the 1060 over a maxq 1070. Saved me $1000.
