    Yeah I think we should contact Gary and even see if what we demand is even possible due to the modified PCB or other reason.

    Hi guys,

    I've done a video to show the change of memory clock.
    Today I also seen some weird screen irritations. The 70MHz GPU clock was maybe a little bit to low. So I switched back to my previous setting with 125/100 on desktop (2D).
    You may know that not all clock combinations are working without problems.

    YouTube - G73JH no flickering

    Your video shows nothing. It's in UVD mode and as long as the video plays, it won't flicker. You don't know what I'm talking about it seems.

    OMG. You don't even know my UVD-setting and that it isn't working since last driver versions.
    Don't kidding me and buy a Clevo or Alienware.

    @laptopfan88
    Its true that he should be on UVD but for an unknown reason his GPU in not in this state.
    The proof is we can see the clock dynamically changing. ANd we know UVD is a locked clock. (at least on our Asus).
    He could also be using one of the MSI VBios I encounter that had no UVD settings.
    Anyway its weird. and I tried his setting and I got flickering.

    Original with beta Asus vBIOS. Changed clock speeds with RBE.

    @laptopfan88
    What is your problem about facts?
    What revision is your PCB?
    Why not flash the MSI vBIOS and try something out?

    Edit:
    My current settings attached.
    Clock02 is UVD and this setting isn't activated since last 2 (?) driver revisions. IDK

    By beta you mean the one provided by gary ( 93vbiosa) ?
    There were 1-2 beta vbios before this one.

    It was the one with unlocked overdrive. I guess from Chastity. :)

    UVD did work here for 11.2 11.3 and 11.4. could be software interfering with those or need a driver cleanup.

    UVD not clocking here too but only when it is not plugged (and i don't think that's from the drivers)
    that's becouse we are using too low clocks 70/100
    on 100/150 it was clocking to UVD properly

    Anyone using my OD2 vBIOS will not see any clock changes in UVD mode, as I have AC Idle and UVD set to the same clocks. (400/1000) I found that setting very stable for video playback and lowers power consumption a wee bit.

    And as I said you don't know how it works. UVD state overrides all others including battery mode. So if you have a video playing, it will remain at UVD mode.

    Btw. there's a note in the latest release notes of 11.4 regarding clocking issues after having used Firefox 4.

    Is this the explanation for my issue? What is overridden? How can it remain if it's never been activated?
    On my X7811 with MSI 5870m I have a downclocked UVD setting (enough power) and if I play a vid in youtube those UVD clocks are activated. Till I close the yt-Tab in Firefox.
    The G73 currently plays the vid in the 2D-setting and switches to 3D (700/1000) when jumping forward or in fullscreen playback. Was the same in last ff 3.6.
    Atm I don't know the driver version at the X7811. So I could check it with 11.4 later.

    As you can see in the 11.4 and GSOD threads: the gsod is back with Asus vbios v93 and 11.4 whql. So we really need a properly fixed vbios for G73jh. HellCry hasn't been seen recently but I can confirm that the MSI vbios still works perfectly fine and even faster that v93 with the new drivers. Of course you still lose vga and hdmi functionality which is not nice :(

    I'm still awaiting proof that it's a vBIOS issue.

    Just tested some things:

    1. Flash v023 MSI vBIOS with UVD 300/500 setting ->
    a) same as Asus vBIOS - no UVD switch
    b) lot of 2D/3D switch in ff 4.0 too while hardwareacc. is enabled
    but also medium states (here 400/600)

    2. Checked behaviour on my X7811
    a) driver 10.12 and ff 4.0 -> working UVD (yt with 300/500)
    b) installed 11.4 -> UVD still working
    c) lot of 2D/3D switch in ff 4.0 too while hardwareacc. is enabled

    result: UVD-"leak" not driver related
