I'm not seeing much posted here about it yet...the jh ended up having that gray screen of death (which has maybe been fixed with a BIOS update?) Sounds like the jw has better cooling, but I haven't heard anything beyond the (excellent) review so far.

I had mine for a bit under a week but to be honest have yet to identify any real issues. So far this is a very solid machine.

    1) The stock Blue Ray drive looks and feels a little on the cheap side, but to be honest I'm nit-picking here. It works well on software and DVD movies, in fact DVDs have never looked better on a laptop that I have owned. Still wanting to go pick up a Blue Ray movie to see how that plays.

    2) My USB 3.0 drives works well with my 2.0 devices, but I don't yet have any 3.0 devices to test with.

    3) I installed the beta graphic drivers and while it said it installed correctly I saw no performance gain and the device manager still lists the older driver ...sounds like user error to me :)

    4) Oh ya...and I keep hitting the "end" key when I mean to hit the "delete" key because it's in a different spot on the keyboard...more user error. :)

We'll see what the coming days/weeks expose but so far I'm very pleased. I've never owned a faster, better displaying system.

    Cool, thanks guys!

Hmm...I guess the G73jw has that Intel wireless display thingee though which I don't want, but other than that it's about perfect. (Aside from that I'd prefer an even higher end GPU, but hey, it's still good.)

The USB 3.0 issue has been solved. There is a setting in the bios that says to change if there is any problems with it. I changed this setting and now works fine for all my usb 2.0 needs.

    Cool, that's good to hear.

What's this about Asus' using poorly applied thermal paste or whatever that 'wears out'? Is it really a good idea having Gentech or XoticPC apply better thermal paste? I'm not so much against the extra money as I am paranoid about them ripping apart my brand new notebook before I even get it :-D

I don't think better thermal paste is necessary on G73JW since both CPU and GPU runs cool with stock thermal compound.
