If so, how is it working on a G73? Wanna confirm before I rip the BIOS of my ps2.

2D games will work fine for the most part, but anything with polygons will probably run mediocre at best. It's very, very CPU-dependent and that's one area the G73 is pretty mediocre.

From what I've gathered, it seems that it runs best with single cores, okay with dual cores, and just terribad with quad cores....hope this info is wrong.

This emulator and the Dolphin (Wii and Gamecube) use only 2 cores, recommended system is a 3.2GHz dual core cpu (AMD cpu is poor optimized) and a 9800GT (or AMD equivalent).

I have a Asus G51VX, with 2.4GHz and a GTX260m (desktop 9800 GT equivalent) and all games that I tested, runs fine with 60 fps and HD graphics with AA (on the PCSX2, so far I tested, FFX, FFXII, ICO, OKAMI and GOW2).

Some other games are very cpu bound, like Metal Gear, Gran Turismo...

A standard G73 with a 720qm which can turbo boost at 2.4GHz with 2 cores, you'll be able to play a lot of games (i7 clock per clock performance is better than a Core 2 Duo).

The "biggest" problem is to find a good compilation and configure properly.

I've tried psx2 and it's quite ok if the VGA settings is set to DX9 instead of the DX11. Graphics is borked when it is set to use DX11 and displays great with DX9.
