I dunno what to do. I have a sticker collection on my water bottle and pondering adding to my collection.
-
I don't plan on selling it so to me they look like cheesy showroom stickers....not so stealthy!
I stuck them on the user guide. -
Only thing stopping me is resale...
-
I take the big one off, the one that explain you the nice features of the G73 to find a big glue mark over the chassis :/
Anyway, that happens with almost every laptop. The rest of the brand stickers are still in the laptop. -
I just took em off. It was pretty easy because of the matte surface. Owell. My bottle is colorful!
-
I have a g51jx, but instead of removing the stickers i actually put one big on top (i skinned my laptop) now i dont have to look at the stickers plus i get some protection!!!

IYO, of course
I finally axed that stuff myself - may be my imagination but I swear the sound is betterLast edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
I removed them the first day i got this beauti. I stuck them on the bag that holds the manuals.
-
i did after about 2 months, taking them off left it a little discolored

I can't believe the extreme measures some of you take. I've put my laptop inside a clear case and leave it powered off at all times. That way when I get ready to resell it it will still look brand new. I was actually thinking about not even removing it from the box it came in. Tearing stickers off? No Thanks!!!

...I think he was joking.

My stickers are still on; they don't bother me, plus I <3 when someone ganders at them and goes "Damn!" & "What the hell do you have in there?"
-
The stickers are the first thing that goes away when I buy a new notebook.
The only ones I left on my N71JQ are small stickers for Win7, USB3.0, Intel and ATI card. -

Wow. In my neck of the woods you can tell the computer illiterate from the computer educated by whether they take the stickers off. The illiterate seem to think taking them off will void the warranty. . . .
[sadly, as much as I wish it were. . the above is not a joke. That's what I get for living in the middle of nowhere ] -
The only use I see of them is when the notebook is displayed in a shop. There one can quickly compare the specs among many different displayed machines.
-
If you're going to take them off, you should decide on day-1. If you leave them on, especially with the soft-touch coating, you'll have permanent spots where they were that never go away. Also, the adhesive on the stickers will bond even stronger as you press on the stickers during keyboard use.
It's great, as they come off a lot easier than a solid surface, for which in the past I've had to use lighter-fluid to get rid of the adhesive, something I'd not want to try on a soft-touch surface -- it wasn't necessary as the stickers came off easy and left no residue. -
I also hate having stickers on my laptops... first thing i do when i get a laptop is to peel all that off...

No, the salesgirl removes them when I buy.
-
No way will I remove my clothes tags. As soon as I buy new clothes I put dry cleaners plastic over them and never take them out of the closet after that.
-
I did
except the windows license once

Took mine off. I hated the look of the EAX sticker. So cheap. The ATI sticker had a bubble under it, and I hate how the stickers look after I've had my hands resting there for a while. I don't plan on selling this thing at any time anyways- I want to keep one computer at least, in case it becomes an antique one day and becomes worth a fortune or something. XD
That and a backup. I had two laptops before, when I got my new Acer, I used my old laptop for things I didn't want my new computer exposed to. XD
(Not what you think, perverts) -
I left mine on. Taking them off would be like stripping off the decals from a nascar!
-
-
^Yeah! Besides, why do you need them? You know what's in there, and by the looks of the laptop, everyone else does!
-
-
Yeah....if only I had left the stickers on all my 286, 386, Pentium III, and Pentium 4 PCs....they'd be worth millions now
-
I still have the stickers, just not residing on my laptop.
The G73 doesn't need stickers. -
Would not sticker removal void all warranties? Mine are all on and my system runs fine, although it may weigh a few more micrograms than MarkS's
-
Removing the stickers from the case isn't going to void anyone's warranty, and especially not a company that allows you to update the BIOS as part of the warranty. -
-
Why would you want to remove them ?
Every ricer racer will tell you: "stickers add power!!"
I say, find a i7 920 sticker, put in your G73 beside your default i7 sticker and the performance will BLOW YOUR MIND! -
Would you want an auto dealership to put their logo on your car? Would you want to put a bumper sticker on your Dodge Viper?
Why do you think so many people make fun of ricers? xD -
I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this previously, but as a general rule, I tend to leave the stickers on due to the fact that it helps retain the value of the laptop if and when I decide to sell my system. It's amazing to see the amount of people on ebay whom are willing to pay more for a non-modded, original factory condition system compared to those with some light alterations, especially when it pertains to the laptop's cosmetic condition.
-
I think a majority of us kept our stickers though. Mine are there if I do end up reselling even though I don't plan on it. I don't buy things to sell them again, I buy them to enjoy them for as long as possible. I make it mine since it is mine.
-
I have to go with billyray on this one
My stickers are my colors!
-
I take pride in my stickers...At least the original authentic ones.
I don't see any problem with removing the smaller one but I would tend to leave the big one on the right side since it has a barcode for your G73's serial number and I'm guessing it could come in handy for RMA cases. -
-
I don't like the stickers being on my laptop. To me it looks like it should be sitting on the display shelf at Best Buy instead of doing some serious computing with the badges all over the palm rest... that's just me, though. To each his or her own.
I do want a sticker that says "My laptop can beat up your laptop." That would be cool. -
-
If you have a printer that adds a gloss layer to its output, you can easily design one.
-
People do you think we should start a new forum Sector for this topic? I am amazed Chastity, Billyray and I are in agreement!
BTW Chastity what is this date you mentioned earlier? The last one I had contained a pit and had wrinkled skin. -
You may be lonely, but at least you're regular.
