    Greetings:

I've flown IL-2 for years on a desktop, which after many years of service has decided to give up the ghost.

Since my G73 is my 'desktop replacement' I recently loaded IL-2 1946 and patched it up to the latest 4.101m spec. I also installed Stab 6.3 to be the primary interface. I was warned that some laptop graphics cards are 'not supported' and sure enough, neither the program or stab will run on my G73.

Any PC pilots out there that have experience with this?

    Many thanks

well, not loaded up IL2 in a long time, but yeah... it plays on my G73. I use the steam version and it's only 4.09m so I'll have to look into the update manually. Not used Stab in a long long time either. Kinda fell out of the sim arena since my buds all left.

My biggest gripe was having to manually get 1920x1080 mode... I'll have to load it up and see if I still have that resolution or if my last Steam reload buggered it up

    Many thanks, SwissyJim. :)

FWIW, I just bought the $10 5-games-in-one download version from Ubisoft, because I didn't want to hassle with the multiple disk reinstallation. That one starts at 4.07m and I got the rest of the patches from the Mission 4 Today website.

I've never used Steam - how does it differ from installing the game directly?

    IT WORKS!

To make a long story short, I have to run mine as the 'hidden administrator' in Win 7.
