About 2 months ago I started getting a distorted use cursor while gaming (I'm pretty sure only in Dota 2). some times the cursor changes to a black vertical sawblade like thing, other times it looks torn and sometimes other things that can't remember. The only way to fix it seems to be to restart.

This doesn't happen often so it isn't a big deal but the time before last it happened my graphics card died (5870m) when I restarted my computer to fix it (no post). I assumed it was because the last time I repasted it the thermal pads were just a but too thin and didn't apply very much pressure.

Since then I have replaced the graphics card with a 6990m. I know that the vram is properly cooled on this card. I used 1mm pads and it is seated properly. Today i got the same issue happening. the sawtooth one this time.

I get NO artifacting and temps were about 80C. there was a small overclock on the card 715/900 to 745/1000.

Is this a known issue here? is there a fix? should i be worried about my new graphics card?

Catalyst 12.4. So it is NOT something I should worry about?
