I just received my New G74SX-A1 computer. But using the FN+F12 and/or using the windows slide control the volume is so low. Even with headphones on the volume is low. I reinstalled the RealTek Drives but still no luck. Anyone else having this problem or found a fix.

    Thank You
    Jason

Right click on the speaker, go to playback devices, double click on whatever devices you use (try speaker first). Go to the levels tab and increase. See if that helps.

Follow up the problem is with the Realtek audio and Creatives THX software which is running at the same time. If THX software is not running the most you get is about 40% volume and with THX on you get about 80% volume.

I checked this out by going to 2 stores and get the same results. I was wondering if anyone else who has a G74 hasa problem and how they might have fixed it. I hate to have to send the machine back everything else works fine.

Sending it in will not change anything if it's only a software issue

    I have that problem too.

What you can do is navigate to the directory of the THX Settings (C:\Program Files (x86)\Creative\THX TruStudio\THXNBSet). Click on the menu arrow on the on the upper-left of the UI and select "Start THX TruStudio when Windows starts". Change the setting from "Built-in Speakers" to "External Speakers" and bring the slider to 100%. But the problem here is that you'll have change the settings every time you boot into Windows by opening the THX settings in you taskbar and the audio still won't play at 100% of the range of your speakers.

Or you can take the other route of just uninstalling the Realtek Audio Driver and THX driver. Windows 7 will default to it's base audio driver when you restart. It'll definitely be loud at full volume but you'll distinctly hear your chassis vibrating at 75%-100% volume.
