Hey everyone, I have a problem. I'm at a friends house, and I left the AC adapter for my G73JW (i7 740QM) gaming laptop at home. It's an hour drive away. However, he has an old AC adapter with an Input of 100-240V and an Output of 19V. Can I safely use this Adapter to power my laptop?
Thanks in advance.

interesting question i would like to know the answer too
i am just too lazy to google it -
I googled it, but for the site I foudn they never listed the Q740, They did the Q720 and 820, but not the 740. Better safe than sorry when your talking about 1500 dollars...

Sure, it'll work.
Not sure if the amp rating will be adequate. -
Will it do any damage? I went on ASUS's website and it says this:
AC Adapter:
Output: 16 V DC, 4.7 A, 150W
Input: 100-240 V AC, 50/60 Hz universal (Intel® i7-720QM / i7-820QM platform)
Output: 19 V DC, 4.74 A, 120W
Input: 100~240 V AC, 50/60 Hz universal (Intel® Core™i7-620M/ i5 / i3 platform) -
dude you didn't googled
150W ASUS G73JW-A1 G73JH-B1 power supply charger ac adapter -
Haha I didn't google for the actual adapter, just the specs that are required... if you get my meaning. But thanks a ton man.

It'll probably be able to charge your battery, but it might not let you boot up your laptop (due to a low Ampere). You can try though. At least you can wait hours for the battery to charge and then play using the battery and repeat ;o

DC output voltage:19V
DC output current:7.9A
Power:150W
that's all you need dude
if your friend adapter has those numbers put it on -
I tried out his adapter... got about 3 minutes before the computer just shut down. I see now the current was off... anyway we ended up going back and getting it lol. Had left some other stuff back there too so we took a ride.
Just FTR My addapter is
100~240V, 2.0A INPUT
19.5 V, 7.7A OUTPUT
Thanks for the help guys.
