    Hi folks,
My OEM (original) battery of G53JW died long time ago, and bought a replacement one from Amazon, this one:

    http://www.amazon.com/LB1-High-Perf...p/B008NF810A/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8

The problem is, the reported battery level is stucked at %100 and not decreasing. I used the battery not so frequently and this problem wasn't happening at first times. Eventually, though the laptop is being backed up with this battery with no problem, the battery level isn't decreasing and stucked at %100. Both Windows Taskbar battery meter and 3rd party programs like BatteryCare / HWInfo64 shows the same percentage %100.

I calibrated, discharged and charged the battery a few times, but no avail.

    What can i do?

    Thanks in advance :)

Try ' Device Manager' and uninstall/re-install the items under ' Battery'.

Not all battery packs are created equal and the one you've bought contains 4x 18650 cells of merely 1,100 mAh each ( 3,400 mAh cells are max.). If the original pack had better cells, say a 2,200 mAh variety, then the OS (drivers) won't know the difference until you re-query the capacity of the battery pack (battery firmware). Check what HWiNFO reports; it should say 14.8V/4,400 mAh with this pack.

I tried deleting " Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" but didn't work. I added a screenshot of HWINFO64 about the battery. I'm %100 sure that the readings of battery controller are being reported incorrect.

At past, i remember that the reported battery level had started decreasing normally, using the notebook with battery backup-mode after plenty of minutes. Currently, the level is always %100 and nothing helps.

The 66,000 mWh is correct, at least (14.8V * 4,400 mAh). And the 'Current voltage' is dropping as it should; 16.711V down to 16.231V (full capacity exceeds 14.8V, which is nominal voltage). Draw appears normal too; -44W.

Think your old pack was a 5,200 mAh, which is more common for this model, and the OS still has that value stored somewhere (all apps rely on that). Re-install would fix it, but that'd be a bit overkill. Hm, might try a cmos reset or; draw battery to zero, remove it, reboot and re-insert while laptop is running. With any luck that'll re-trigger battery driver install and set it to 4,400 mAh.

Is it saying 100% right down to 0%?

I did some recommended stuff, such as uninstalling " Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery", draining battery without seeing actual charging level, and i'm not keen on re-installing the OS just for this problem, and i beleive it won't fix even so. Maybe i need to drain battery more and more to make this replacement battery and Windows aware that it's running on my new system?

It's always %100. It's not decreasing linearly down to %0, in past, i came across that while the level was showing %100, after using more than 30-45 minutes, suddenly the taskbar battery level indicator warned me that the level is now %5, but this only happened for once. I beleive this replacement battery is idiot, not smart, but it's backing me up so i can't call it's faulty to return.

It's likely they don't have voltage sensing in the battery (or it's busted) and they are just feeding the machine a fake voltage.

I beleive that this "replacement" batter is not "smart" rather than being faulty, it backs up for a remarkable time, but the readings are always incorrect and shows %100, sometimes drops below %100 even you re-calibrate the battery unit.

I don't know what to beleive, i think it's best to rely on practical back-up time that i experience instead of taskbar percentage value.
