Im assuming all the G series use the Synaptic touchpad. Have any of you noticed the insane memory leaks the program bleeds? After a couple days, the synaptic touchpad program accumulated 800mb of ram...
Is it just me or has anyone noticed the amount of memory it takes just to run it?

Some of the later versions of the driver have memory leak issues. Roll back to an earlier driver. I use 15.0.11 and everything is perfect.

I normally see this when installing synaptics and then updating when I first reinstall windows, normally uninstalling and then reinstalling this once the updates are done fixes the problem.
Wondering if it could be a service pack change maybe? But some do have memory leaks as Lord Lion said ^ -
I rebooot and or turn off my PC once a day and never see issues like this.
Sucks that they are around.. -
This happens if you install the Synaptics drivers and then update them without uninstalling first. I saw this installing the drivers from Synaptics.com and then updating to the Chastity's driver page driver.
I have no issues at all with installing the base Synaptics.com universal driver (which supports 2 finger scrolling which I wouldn't live without). I've definitely seen this memory hogging issue before, but as I said performing a full removal of the synaptics related apps from the Programs list and then rebooting before installing the new version should resolve this. -
I dont know about the memory leaks but the touch pad on my JH is the most horrible touch pad in existence. The pointer jumps around when it wants too. I try to use a mouse as much as possible but sometimes I dont have one with me. OMG I just want to throw away this laptop.
