    Hello guys, I just saw the Asus G46VW on shelf at Bestbuy in New York. It was really amazing and it comes with the price $999.
    Just a quick question, its just been released over a week ago if Im not mistaken. Any other stores or online store that sells this Asus G46VW? I am looking for one that doesnt charge Tax. Thanks!

    I looked all over before picking mine up this weekend. I didn't see any other than HIDEvolution that were selling for a decent price. HIDEvolution is basically buying them from Bestbuy though and then marking them up $100. They do have the benefit of adding upgrades to the G46 for you though. I would probably recommend a faster HD (7200rpm) and possibly a quad core cpu if you need one.

    I haven't seen the reason to do either of them yet though. The laptop runs beautifully and HD access isn't that horrible.

    The only ones I have seen is Best Buy and hidevolution. Taxes for the laptop is about 50 dollars. I love it so far, I had to take it back a couple times for QC issues. ( dead pixel and broken touchpad) . Overall the laptop is a beast. Do not be scared by the 720p screen its not that bad. I am currently playing Assassins creed 3 in max settings and I'm pulling 45-50 fps.

    Did you have the windows 8 or windows 7 pre installed? The ones i see on best buy have the windows 8 installed. I would like to opt for windows 7.

    Isit a hassle to open up the replace the HDD? Because it says there's no direct back panel towards the hdd?

    I bought my 14 inch gaming laptop, and I went for the Alienware M14x R2, couldnt be more happy than that :)

    An alienware huh? I'd take a G46VW over one of those any day, only having a GT 650m and all those extra lights, no thanks. I love my G55VW but if I wanted a smaller laptop a G46VW with the higher resolution would be the best 14" thats out there.

    I was torn between these two and went with the alien as well. The best buy exclusivity was the dealbreaker.... severe lack of customization. Great notebook though!
