    Hello.
I have an Asus G50V and it was working fine but now when I switch it on after some hours (3-4) it shut down automatically (because of the temperature).
Before 1-2 months I was hearing the fan noise but now I can't hear it so I think my fan not working. I install speed fan (software) and it says that my fan is 0 RPM.
I read somewhere that not all the motherboards recognize RPM and I don't know if that software gives correct logs because of that information I read.
    Thank You very much

Is the fan blowing out any air at all? You should be able to easily tell by holding your hand by the vent or maybe with a lighter to see if the flame blows out or away. If its dead you can get a replacement through their estore, looks like you also have to get the heatsinks as well though
