Well, the vid card in my g50 died on me. I know because while i was gaming, my whole system crashed and when i started it back up, i got artifacts and numerous BSOD's when i install nvidia drivers. The only way this baby is stable is if i let windows install it's own vid drivers, then i can least browse the web and the like.

I just contact someone on this forum for their old replacement card.. it's here http://forum.notebookreview.com/computer-components/574058-niffs-mxm-card-sale-mxm-3-0-fx-1800m-gddr5-ati-5850-mxm-2-1-4850-acer-hp-9600m-gt-ati-3650-asus-9800m-gs-260m-more.html.

I believe Niff is gonna be a life saver if i can get my hands on that g50/g60 9800m gs. However, the fan in my laptop is busted and after trolling online for a few weeks, i have no idea where to get a replacement.

Anyone have any ideas? I tried to no avail on Asus's website :(

To be completely honest, I think you should take out both heatsinks completely and do a repaste and replace the fan and try once more before ordering the card.

I used the wrong screws on my heatsink to my gpu and it overheated causing artifacts and bsod's. After repasting the temps returned to normal and no more artifacts or bsod's.

Just trying to make sure you don't go spending money if you don't "have" to. I'm not saying your gpu isn't fried, but if your fan is bad then at least it would be a cheaper replacement than both the gpu & the fan together.

Oh and as for the fan:

Or you could just get the whole piece. :

If you need the 9800M GS i have 1 sitting around that is brand new, I'll even send the copper shims with it so you don't have to mess with the thermal pads and if you need a new fan i have 1 of those to thats only been used for maybe 2 hours.

And if you need the whole assembly of the heatsinks and the fan and the video card i have all of that so if you want it all I could probably go for $150 and all of it is yours or you can just buy the whole laptop for $200 and have a spare screen spare case the whole works.

    Just let me know.
